Frequently Asked Questions

How can my child get a good grade in Ms. Grant's class?

  • Students should be in class to receive instruction.  We complete a lot of assignments/activities in groups and with partners.  We also will watch curriculum based videos for further information or reinforcement of objectives.  Completing all assigned work on time and studying for quizzes and tests will ensure your child's success in my class.

How can I help my child?

  • Check your child's planner, daily.  Help them to have a specific study/homework time each evening and a specific study place at home.  If they have a quiz or test, help them study.

How can I schedule a conference?

Where can I view students' assignments and grades?

  • You can view student assignments and grades on Skyward.  If you currently do not have access to Skyward, please call the front desk and ask for your login information.

What happens if my student has a zero in the grade book?

  • If  your child has a zero, it is because they have not turned in an assignment.  At this point, I have asked them to turn in an assignment for several days, including those students who have been absent.  Your child may still complete the missing assignment in its entirety and turn it in for half credit.

How important are the 6th grade STAAR tests?

  • Sixth grade social studies is not assessed.
